Pre-announcement: New instrument for Nordic university cooperation to be launched late 2016
Late 2016, NordForsk will launch a new instrument for Nordic university co-operation with a call for proposals open to Nordic universities and university colleges that perform research. The overall goal of the new funding instrument is to strengthen international competitiveness and facilitate the development of world leading research environments in the Nordic region.

NordForsk is now announcing the fourth call under the Nordic Programme on Health and Welfare. The call is targeted towards Nordic register-based research. Application deadline is 5 October 2016 at 13:00 CET.

NordForsk launches the second phase of the call for proposals for Nordic Centres of Excellence within the Nordic Bioeconomy Programme. The call is open to ten selected applicants from the first phase of the call. Application deadline is 7 September 2016.

The main purpose of this call is to promote long-term excellence and capacity building in all areas of research using neutrons. This will be achieved by expanding the coming generation of Nordic neutron users to encompass both new user groups and neutron specialists.

The Nordic-Russian Cooperation Programme in Higher Education and Research opens a call for proposals for joint Nordic-Russian research activities for existing Nordic Centres of Excellence and research projects funded by NordForsk. The aim is to enhance Nordic-Russian cooperation. Application deadline is 3 May.
Preannouncement: The Green Growth Research and Innovation Programme
NordForsk, Nordic Innovation and Nordic Energy Research join forces and launch a call for proposals on Green Growth in mid-March. Approximately 73 MNOK will be granted to the best Nordic resarch and innovation projects.

Call for proposals: Five-year capacity-building project within the Nordic Neutron Science Programme
The Joint Nordic Neutron Science Programme focuses on competence-building in the field of neutron science. The programme is now issuing its first call for proposals, “Capacity-building projects”, under which a total of NOK 10 million is available for allocation to Nordic researchers. The application deadline is 3 February 2016.

NordForsk is now announcing the third call under the Nordic Programme on Health and Welfare. This call is targeted towards establishing infrastructures based on Nordic registers of socio-economic and health–related data in order to facilitate cross-border research that addresses societal challenges.
Funding for Nordic-Baltic research projects on user-driven innovation in health and welfare
NordForsk, in collaboration with The Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems (VINNOVA), the Icelandic Centre for Research (RANNÍS), the Research Council of Lithuania (LMT), and the Estonian Research Council (ETAg), is launching a call for proposals for funding for Nordic-Baltic research projects.
Nordic Centres of Excellence in Arctic Research
Given the global importance of the Arctic region, and the transnational implications of environmental change in the region, NordForsk is now initiating a larger-scale, joint Nordic Initiative on Arctic Research by establishing Nordic Centres of Excellence (NCoE).
