Education for Tomorrow – phase I. policy implications

The Education for Tomorrow programme was initiated by the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2011. The aim was to generate new knowledge about the Nordic educational systems that will better equip the Nordic countries to meet the needs of society – today and in the future. The research projects in the first phase of the programme have now been completed, and have generated new knowledge on a broad range of themes: values education in Nordic preschools, education for immigrant students, skills acquisition at different ages, vocational education and training, and transformation of the higher education systems in the Nordic countries. This report summarises the key research findings from the six projects in the first phase of the programme as well as their implications for educational policies in the Nordic countries.
