A socially sustainable Nordic region

The project provides a first comprehensive comparison of legal frameworks, institutional setups, perceptions and practices of the Nordic multiagency approaches to countering violent extremism.

The project will approach educational inclusion from a holistic and an intersectional perspective highlighting ethnicity, social class, gender, and educational needs when comparing the three cities: Helsinki, Reykjavik and Amsterdam.

This project aims to contribute to inclusive science education through studying teachers' classroom work across educational contexts, when provided with innovative tools to explore new literacy approaches and integrate them in their planning of inclusive lessons.

This multidisciplinary research project aims to promote children’s inclusion in educational settings in Finland, Iceland, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden. We approach belonging as a relational, multi-dimensional, contested, and power-loaded phenomenon that is constructed in the intersection between the macro-level politics and humans’ daily lives at the micro-level.

Nordic POP (patient oriented products) is aiming at providing the scientific foundation for the next generation pharmaceutical products by strengthening the use of interdisciplinary approaches within Nordic pharmaceutical sciences.

The Nordic Centre of Excellence (NCoE) Beyond the gender paradox focuses on exploring women's careers in technology-driven work environments, and conducts both action(-for change), solution-focused research and development research in these contexts. It has four main research pillars, investigating these both inside and outside of academe in a cross-sectoral, comparative manner: regional knowledge and innovation systems; knowledge and innovation systems in research-intensive environments; e-health; and Digital Humanities (in the academy and in the gaming industry).
