There will be funding for up to four research projects. The maximum amount of funding available per project is NOK 1.5 million. The NordForsk Board will decide the awarded projects in December 2020.

“The NordForsk funding will provide to the postdoctoral fellows a unique opportunity to get training in the ESS core techniques and technologies, and they will have access to wider professional networks. The postdoc fellows will be a part of a dynamic next-generation research framework in the Nordic neutron science.”
Aim of the call
The aim of the call is to promote a new generation of Nordic neutron scientists and specialists through training at the European Spallation Source (ESS). Providing support for the next generation of Nordic neutron scientists and specialists is essential to develop long-term capacity building, mobility and excellence.
The project is expected to start in the spring of 2021, and the project duration is maximum two years.
Background
The objectives of the Nordic Neutron Science Initiative are to increase the number of Nordic-region researchers skilled at utilising neutrons in scientific analysis, as well as raise the competency level regarding neutron scattering, particularly among younger researchers and other groups without extensive experience in this field. The call for PostDoc Fellowship proposals is to promote a new generation of Nordic neutron scientists and specialists through training at the European Spallation Source (ESS). The ESS is one of the priority European Research Infrastructures identified by the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI).
