Nordic Commons is a project with the aim of testing solutions and practical approaches to sharing health data between regional and national actors in the Nordic countries.
By extension, the project will support research, innovation and business development.
Sharing health data between the Nordic countries in a safe and efficient way is one of the priority areas of The Nordic Council of Ministers (NCM). This will be of great benefit to research, innovation, health and healthcare, and will promote health and welfare both in and outside the Nordic region.
NordForsk published the report A vision of a Nordic secure digital infrastructure for health data: The Nordic Commons in December 2019. The report's proposals and recommendations are now part of the Nordic Council of Ministers' action plan and have received financial support in the NCM’s four-year action plan.
