Join us for Nordforsk’s webinar on research impact, where we combine practical insights with strategic perspectives. Simon Jernroth will present NordForsk’s workflows for measuring and reporting research impact. Professor David Budtz Pedersen, Professor of Science Communication and Impact Studies at Aalborg University, will discuss how to build institutional capacity for impact-driven research in the Nordic context.

About the speakers

David Budtz Pedersen is Professor of Science Communication and Impact Studies at Department of Communication and Psychology, Aalborg University, and Director of the Knowledge Broker Unit of the ADD Project. His research focuses on the management, communication and impact of science and technology. He is a regular adviser to the European Commission, the Danish Ministry of Science, and a Member of the Norwegian Research Council. He takes a special interest in open, responsible and collaborative research focused on creating positive impact in society. He is Chair of the EU High-Level Presidency Conference on Reforming Research Assessment, 3-4 December 2025. 

Simon Jernroth is Analytics Officer at NordForsk, where he leads analytics for measuring and reporting research impact across and in collaboration with actors the Nordic region. Trained as a social psychologist at the University of Helsinki, he is currently pursuing a PhD in Social Data Science at the University of Copenhagen, where his research focuses on how policymakers relate to, absorb, interpret, and use scientific knowledge and what pathways the knowledge takes to reach them.
