There has been a broad interest in the call with proposals ranging across all main scientific areas, and with a quite balanced representation of consortium partners across the region.
NordForsk expects 12-15 hubs to be funded.
The objective is to improve the availability and optime the use of existing RIs in the Nordic region, foster networks, build competence, increase capacity and promote scientific excellence.
Special Adviser Bjørnar Komissar is responsible for the call and says:
“We are very pleased with the number of applications we received, and happy about the broad variation in both the kinds of research infrastructures that are represented and the relevant scientific research fields supported via the proposed collaborations. The initiative is funded by NordForsk, but with a requirement of at least 2/3 own funding by the consortia. It is good to see that the institutions find it valuable and relevant to invest resources in building and strengthening cross-border research infrastructure collaboration in the Nordic region.”
Budget
Available Budget: up to NOK 180 million (60 million from NordForsk and 120 million provided by the institutions)
Maximum amount of funding that may be sought: NOK 6 million in total and NOK 1,2 million per year.
