Project leaders from the NordForsk call on “Sustainable Development of the Arctic” will share their experiences navigating cross-border co-operation—from biodiversity to integrating Indigenous knowledge systems and travels and transport in remote regions. The session will conclude with a moderated discussion on what others can learn from these examples, and how to set the stage for future success in Arctic research co-operation.
This session is aimed at researchers, funders, institutions, and policy professionals interested in fostering resilient, innovative partnerships across the circumpolar North.
Key questions:
- How can Nordic and Canadian research partners align priorities, timelines, and funding mechanisms?
- What role does trust, relationship-building, and long-term engagement play in securing and sustaining collaboration?
- How can research projects meaningfully involve Indigenous knowledge holders and northern communities?
- What are the measurable impacts and long-term outcomes of funded Nordic–Canadian Arctic research initiatives?
