NordForsk announced on 5 June that five new projects will research sustainable health and care systems for the elderly. Since then, we have been in dialogue with the Novo Nordisk Foundation about the possibility of funding two more projects, and at the end of June we received the news that they will contribute up to DKK 13 million.
Director at NordForsk Arne Flåøyen says:
"I'm very pleased that the Novo Nordisk Foundation is now stepping in with additional funding. With an ageing population, countries throughout the Nordic and Baltic region are dependent on knowledge-based policies and practices for the elderly. The seven projects will therefore deliver research that is of great value in the face of this development.”
The two new projects are:
- ROBOts as Welfare Technologies and Actors for ELderLy Care: A Nordic Model for Integration of Advanced Assistive Technologies
Project leader: Diana Saplacan Lindblom, University of Oslo
Project partners from: Sweden and Denmark
- Determinants of Demand and Supply of Elder Care: Pathways to Sustainable Care Systems
Project leader: Aline Bütikofer, NHH - Norwegian School of Economics
Project partners from: Sweden and Denmark
These projects have already received funding under the same call.
