NordForsk’s new initiative will promote high-quality interdisciplinary research that combines and integrate skills from multiple disciplines. The first call for proposals under the Nordic Initiative for Interdisciplinary Research has a budget of NOK 120 million and the deadline for submissions is 13 November 2019.
The key breakthrough we aim to accomplish in this project is based on specific advantages of graphene: i) its ability to physically penetrate the bacterial biofilm, and ii) its ability to serve as a loading point for large amounts of hydrophobic drugs.
The purpose of the call is to give researchers at an early stage in their careers (years two to seven) the opportunity to build Nordic networks and promote Nordic added value in research.
In June 2016, NordForsk issued a call for Nordic register-based research projects. A total of 48 eligible proposals were received and were peer reviewed by international experts. The NordForsk Board has now decided to award NOK 67 million to fund seven of the projects. This was the fourth call for proposals under NordForsk’s Nordic Initiative on Health and Welfare.
