The Nordic Network on Computational Plant Polymer Research brings together Nordic researchers who develop and use methods of computational physics, chemistry and materials engineering to study plant cell wall polymers and lignocellulosic materials in both fundamental and applied contexts. The network aims to:
- Promote information exchange and collaboration between Nordic researchers
- Increase the visibility and adoption of computational methods within the biomaterials research community and related industries
- Support the training of students and early-career researchers, and facilitate student exchange and researcher visits between the Nordic countries
- Strengthen Nordic collaboration in national and international research funding calls
The network’s activities support research collaboration and the training and competence development of doctoral students and early-career researchers. These activities include an annual meeting that serves as a forum for the researchers to meet, present and discuss their research; researcher visits and student exchanges between the participating universities and research institutes; summer schools; and online lectures/webinars.
The network aims to create an arena where the Nordic biomaterials research community and related industries can learn how to incorporate computational methods, such as molecular modelling, into their materials research and development.
